Tree height calculator
Measure a tree with your phone and a bit of trigonometry — no ladder required. Stand where you can see the whole tree, note your distance to the trunk, then read the tilt angle to its base and its top (most phones show tilt in the compass or measure app).
Tree height ≈ 13.3m
How it works
Height = distance × (tan(angle to top) − tan(angle to base)). Because both angles are measured from the same eye position, your own height cancels out — it works on flat ground and on slopes. In the full TreeAgree flow the distance comes automatically from the two pins you drop on the satellite map.
